Tom Gutteridge

Chairman

Tom has an Emmy for drama, two Montreux Roses, and a clutch of BAFTAs. He even created Robot Wars, and has the original Sir Killalot model in his garden shed. He founded and ran Mentorn, which still makes Question Time, and later became CEO of FremantleMedia in North America, which makes American Idol.

 

He also believes in fresh air, which is why he lives in Northumberland, with his American wife Jo, his 4 year old daughter Izzy, and their dogs Truffle, Mabel and Boots. They all like long walks.

Jo Gutteridge

SVP Development

Jo’s a reality producer from Los Angeles - after working in development at Paramount, she moved to production with shows like Paradise Hotel on Fox and America's Worst Driver for NBC. She develops primetime entertainment, lifestyle and factual entertainment formats. Jo created our international dating format Loveland, which has now been sold to 8 overseas territories. She secured and delivered our Beauty and the Bike pilot for Channel 4 and more recently created Sleeping With The Stars.

 

She loves cooking and rock music - her favorite (note American spelling) band is Led Zeppelin. She and Tom (with Truffle, Mabel and Boots) love exploring the Northumbrian countryside and local pubs. Her best production to date has been the birth of baby Isadora, who's now 4.

Jo Gutteridge

Beth Sowersby

Development Producer

Beth started out her TV career working at Anglia TV on the chat show circuit, working on shows such as Vanessa, Trisha and The Jerry Springer Show before moving to London and specialising in entertainment. She worked on a variety of shows at ITV and the BBC before moving to join Tom Gutteridge at Mentorn. She was a producer on Britain’s Worst Driver and Husband, and was also a casting producer on the Fox series Paradise Hotel as well as America’s Worst Driver for NBC.


Returning to the UK, Beth worked as a producer on many big reality shows such as Big Brother, Hell’s Kitchen, Soccer Aid and Space Cadets. She has produced shows across entertainment, factual entertainment and factual genres for BBC, ITV, Sky, Channel 4.


Recently Beth moved back to Norfolk with her family, where she worked in development at ITV Factual before moving across to join the Standing Stone Team.  A keen cook, knitter and beach walker, her two children do their best to ensure she never has time for sitting still.

Beth Sowersby

Beth Lambert-Matthews

Development Producer

Beth enjoys the challenge of keeping the Standing Stone development slate filled with fresh ideas. She works with the rest of the team to create new formats, source unusual contributors and write great pitch documents.

 

She began working as a runner for the BBC while studying at Cambridge University, before moving home to the North East to train “on-the-job” as a Researcher through local screen agency NFM. Roles included researching “100 Greatest Moments” for Channel 4 and booking a Klingon impersonator for a family quiz show. Beth has also co-ordinated an art competition series for Channel 5, and researched science exhibitions for the Life Science Centre in Newcastle.

 

Away from the office, Beth loves gardening and spending time with her two toddlers.

Beth Lambert-Matthews

Tony Brannon

Lead Designer

Tony is an award winnng graphic artist with a passion for creative problem solving. Having trained in Newspaper design and information graphics he went on to spent 7 years in London working across a range of Fleet Street titles, including the News of the World, Observer and Telegraph. He was the Deputy Graphics Editor at The Sun. 

 

On returning to god's country he joined a design company in Newcastle where he first began working with Tom and Paddy. After a long creative partnership he jumped at the chance to  join the Standing Stone team in early 2012. Tony works alongside Paddy to create stunning brands and award winning websites. He's also Graphics Editor on the second screen app for Channel 4's award-winning current affairs flagship series Dispatches.

 

Tony is married to Lou and has a beautiful baby girl named Mathilda. He is often found swimming in lakes.

Joanna Harrison

Project Co-ordinator

Joanna is Personal Assistant to Tom, in charge of the company diary and all things office related. She is also our Production Co-ordinator for current TV projects, including the Channel 4 Dispatches app.

 

Fresh from University, Joanna joined Standing Stone in 2011 and got her first taste of working within the television industry. It is Joanna's friendly voice that you will probably hear when you call our office.
